Length Converters
Length measures the distance between two points or the extent of an object along its longest dimension. The meter is the SI base unit, defined since 2019 by fixing the speed of light at exactly 299,792,458 meters per second. The metric system — millimeters, centimeters, meters, kilometers — is used by most of the world for everyday and scientific measurement. The imperial system — inches, feet, yards, miles — remains dominant in the United States and is still used alongside metric in the United Kingdom. Nautical miles are used universally in aviation and maritime navigation due to their direct geometric relationship with Earth's latitude.
