Electric current Converters

Electric current is the directed flow of electric charge through a conductor or medium. The SI base unit is the ampere (A), redefined in 2019 as the flow of exactly 1/1.602176634×10⁻¹⁹ elementary charges per second. Current takes two forms: direct current (DC), where charge flows in one direction (batteries, electronics), and alternating current (AC), where flow reverses periodically at 50 or 60 Hz (mains electricity worldwide). Everyday currents span many orders of magnitude — nanoamperes in biosensors and sleeping microcontrollers, milliamperes in USB-powered devices and LEDs, single-digit amperes in household wiring, and kiloamperes in lightning strokes and industrial arc furnaces. Together with voltage, current determines electrical power via P = IV.
